The transformers belonging to this class comply to the requirements in IEC 146.
They are self cooled, oil immersed, three phase power transformers, having the HV and LV outlets through bushings protected in a housing, for outdoor installation on a moving drilling platform.
Conditions of operation
Construction features
The magnetic circuit is made of carlyte insulated, grain oriented, cold rolled silicous steel sheet.
The windings are made of paper insulated copper or aluminium wire and they withstand short-circuits.
The winding types are: cylindrical or helical on the LV side and continuous in flat coils on the HV one, voltage control on the HV side takes place by means of a tap changer, operated only with the de-energized transformer.
The tank is cover type, made of welded steel sheet, stiffened with ribs and is provided with coolers made of elliptical tubes.
